Looking for help with a power issue on our 160. Unit turns on, everything functions but there is no throttle.

Had Deere come out and take a look but we never got a report and they want to charge again to do a follow up. Was told by the last mechanic that there was a communication failure and the part we needed was roughly 5k but they weren't even sure that it would fix the issue.

Just hoping someone can steer me in the right direction to really determine the issue without spending tons of money.

Machine has been sitting now for over a year. Still runs but is useless so we either figure it out or sell it as is.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

post up the serial number and then the pros here will be able to help better.
The dealer had to replace the computer on our 120, it is about the same vintage and is the same part. Yours might be a simple fix.

Once a second or like it is flashing a code?

Also, with the key on/engine off, have someone turn the throttle dial while someone listens to the stepper motor (what the throttle cable is attached to). Any noise coming from the stepper motor?

Check your messages.

Flashing once a second, slightly faster.

Tried the throttle dial but there wasn't any feedback from the stepper motor. No noise or vibration coming form the motor.

There is a little toggle switch next to the diagnostic connector. With the key off and the throttle dial in the slow idle position, move the toggle to the top position. Key on (engine off), wait 5 seconds, key off, wait 5 seconds, then move the toggle back to the center position. Did this fix the issue?

If not, check your messages on how to retrieve diagnostic codes. Then post them, if any here.
