Have a fleet of 10 299D3XE skidsteers and one keeps breaking the axle retainers in half. Any clue what might be causing this? Replaced the axles last year as they were wore out. And about 500 hours after replacement it has snapped probably 4 different retainers.

Maybe post a couple pictures of what is breaking and maybe more info will come as solutions to your problem. Post your serial number also as there could be some differences.

Sounds like some bearings are not doing their job.

But why only one machine in a fleet of 10 is the question. Different job site conditions.? Different operator.? Something out of whack alignment-wise.?

I would expect that it probably wasn’t fixed correctly or completely, the first time.
