1) Brake or clutch?

4) is probably a gas peddle? But it seems stationary/froze/locked.
5) Plus there's what looks to be a emergency brake handle, is that locked in the up position?
6) And there's a plunger with a knob in front of the foot gas peddle looking thing by the emergency brake handle.

Careful using the differential lock. If your back tire is spinning, don’t step on the lock. Make sure rear wheel has stopped moving then engage lock.
That is if it works, a lot of them have been disconnected as it’s a good way for a panicked operator to blow up some gears.
Out of the 30 or 40 Case 580’s I’ve been in only a handful worked.
Mine is disconnected and have thought about hooking up but nixed that idea every time.
My Kubota L3010D I can stomp on while spinning and it’s quite handy.
That is if it works, a lot of them have been disconnected as it’s a good way for a panicked operator to blow up some gears.

Differential lock locks the back wheels together. Posi-traction is another name for limited slip differential. It differs from diff. lock in that it just gives power to the wheel with the most traction. That's why some guys that do a lot of off roading with 4x4's put in a locking differential on the rear axle. Detroit locker is a common one. Hot rod guys weld the diff. solid. On tight turns the tires can skid. They don't with posi-traction.

The foot throttle is linked to the hand throttle to the right of the steering wheel.
If the foot pedal is stuck down most likely the hand throttle is pulled down to raise the rpm's

Peddle does not move but right side column throttle works.
Can both work at the same time, or there's some sort of interlock to select one or the other, or it's just built with either a foot or column throttle and can't be changed? Thx

Most foot throttles will "idle" at wherever the hand throttle is set. As far as accelerating I don't think the hand throttle moves the foot pedal down but I could be wrong.

The hand throttle and the foot pedal should be linked.
If you step on the foot pedal with it running, do the rpm's go up?
If not, there is something broken or dis-connected

No foot peddle seems solid mounted does not move down and does not move as the column throttle is adjusted.
I'll get under and inspect the linkage and see what I find.

My neighbor has a 580B and I remember his linkage broke under the dash.
I know for sure his dash lever and foot pedal worked together.
The linkage shaft is pretty thin where a roll-pin goes through and that is where his broke up under the dash.
That was difficult to fix

Based on the pics it looks like the foot throttle is broken and laying flat on the floor. Probably a linkage problem as mentioned above.
Also, you should really just post one master thread about the machine and keep all the pics, questions and comments together. It clutters up the forum less and also is a benefit to you, by having all the info in one place. Maybe one of the mods can consolidate these threads?
