Rad started dripping coolant and on investigation found it coming from vicinity of lower rad. Could not identify exact location so pulled rad. This is where it got interesting . Could not get coolant to go thru rad, either top to bottom or bottom to top.Truck had been running great so did not seem likely that rad was plugged.
Removed top section which includes part that bolts to core as well as an expansion tank .There is a ball check in there which by its design should allow a trickle to flow down but, when ball is pushed up,no flow at all from rad into expansion tank, which of course is where rad pressure cap is.i guess there must have been a piece of crud in the tiny passage in valve which is why nothing would flow.im thinking of eliminating this check valve entirely so there a clear route from top to bottom like normal.Anyone know about this?
The ball and brass "jet" are removed from hole and laying on the right in pic.IMG_20221002_180402572.jpg IMG_20221003_170644376_HDR.jpg

Maybe a 444? 1210CPL? Shame on the mess. I would convert it to high flow.

That was to let air escape core, the problem was in the lower tank-old thread too.

444 not so hot.
