931 78U Pinion Removal

Hi Guys,
I'm dismantling an old 931 (78U) Loader.
I wonder if anyone has a manual describing the removal of the (Bevel) pinion shaft.?
I have all the other parts out,but can't quite figure out what to do with this pinion..
The early D3 is possibly the same set up.
I'm impresssed by the quality of manufacture.The Chinese guys should have to do some dismantling before they fire up their furnaces!
