Hey does anyone know why Allison's website has been down for a while?

Maybe because GM sold the division and the new guys are redoing it. Just my guess.

Oh! I guess I didn't know GM had sold it. Who did they sell it to?

Onex and Carlyle corp bought it for 5.9 billion in sept of last year.

Yeah it must have just been down last night for some reason...back up today.

GM did retain ownership of the Allison plant in Baltimore that builds the Allison 1000 M/D trans that goes in the 2500-5500 series. (5500 series has an optional 2230 RDS series-don't know what plant it comes from).
