the tension bracket broke on the alternator. when i pulled alt the bolt hole was 1.5 normal size. the bottom bracket holes are 2-2.5x size hole should be.

backets are coming in from australia but can i shim the alt or do i need a new one?
alt is 85 brackets were 400. guess i could keep as backup

Not sure what you mean by shims but a lot of alternators come from the factory with steel bushes pushed into the alloy from new.
They are slightly over sized with a split down the side to allow them to shrink slightly as they are pressed in.
If you had access to a machine shop they look like they still have enough material left to bore out and fit a bush.

I don't see why a decent machine shop wouldn't be able to clean those holes up then turn you some bushings.
