So I purchased this lift in not really operational condition though the owner said it was completely working except the basket pivot function.

Since purchasing last year I have cleaned all the connections in the lower control box (LCB ) and the level switch was cleaned and verified functioning.. The little green light on the bottom is lit up.

All of the LCB functions were not working but once I cleaned and leveled the Level switch all the LCB switches work as they should.

I cleaned all the grounds, checked all the wiring and everything in the LCB is working as it supposed to.

I moved up to the upper control board/box ( UCB) and everything worked initially and then over a time frame Riser/boom up and down stopped working.

I have verified from test light on the proper wire at the solenoid that the test light does come on when the joystick is moved that way.. Both for up and down.. Yet when in the basket with engine running or electric motor that it does nothing.

From ground control everything works.. From UBC all functions work but the boom and riser. It was working sporadically and yesterday it stopped working completely.

Years ago I worked on one of those with much the same problems. I found the cable from the lower to the basket had gone bad and replaced it. That solve all the operation issues.

I found a supplier of multi-conductor cable. It had different color coding but I made a drawing of what each color connected to and included it with the machine parts book when I got through with it. I seem to recall those machines used 21 wires on the cable and the replacement cable I got had 24 or 25. It gave me three or four extra wires that I could just tape over and use for spares.

Hello. It's my first post so here goes: My machine is an AMZ51 (1998) and the issue is (2) basket joystick controls (Telescope and Forward/Reverse) are non-responsive. They receive operating voltage, ground is verified but instead of 12 they show (0.5v) output back to the ground unit. All ground unit functions work. I do have partial basket function on (swing) joystick so to troubleshoot I switched (Blue & White) input wires with (Forward/Reverse) output wires and got function. Tells me the joystick module has a fault. Has anyone else had this issue, thanks.

I did get it working.. In fact all functions work.. I ended up buying 4 new joy stick controllers.. It's funny because the new ones are smaller in size than the originals.

I bought 4 used 3 of them and keep 1 as a backup just in case.

I love this machine best thing I have ever bought.
