Hi guys my company is looking to expand into the Southwestern and Southeastern corners of Manitoba and Saskatchewan we currently have three excavators in our fleet one Hitachi ZX160LC and two Kobelco SK210LC's. We have a brush mulcher, hoe pack, wrist bucket, hydraulic thumb, and a digging bucket for the Hitachi. And one thumb on one of the Kobelco's, wrist buckets buckets for both, digging buckets, and rippers. We are currently looking at adding another hoe or a dozer if we can secure some work out there. We are C.O.R. certified in Manitoba and are willing to get further required certifications if we can secure some work in the oil patch.
Are there any contractors that sub out some of their work? Or should we be contacting the oil companies themselves?

i work for a company in the eagle ford down here in texas. we build locations and roads for oil companies and we have sub contractors. I would assume it would be the same up there. I wouldn't rule out talking to the oil companies though, they may be able to direct you to a contractor looking for help or maybe talk to you about your own contract. The downside to being a sub is that when things get slow, you'll be the first to sit home.

Well we were hoping that somebody that works in this particular oil patch would know of some companies that work in the area and might be looking for extra help.
