Hey, does anyone know what would cause the outer oil seal (driveshaft end) of the torque converter output shaft on a Case 450C to blow out. My guess is a pressure build up inside the housing, but what would cause that. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Here it is 15 days since your post and no response. Boy this is a great forum lol, just kidding though.
Have you figured out your problem with the seal popping out? Your are correct on pressure build up in housing usually means there is a restriction in the cooling circuit or the drain going to the trans housing. You might want to check that hose.

Hey Coy, thanks for the reply. You were right on the money with the blocked drain back to the trans. The lads in the shop had the trans out of the machine to replace a shaft and had plugged all the lines to keep out dirt etc. One of the plastic plugs that was inserted got missed. So there you have it, no place for the oil to go. A simple, but costly mistake, that dang seal was 300.00 from the case dealer, it's proprietary to case.
Thanks Again
