case 480c diff lock install?

i have a case 480c that was missing its diff lock,picked up the cover with internals from salvage and installed it,im having a bit of trouble though,the lever only moves a hair once installed, is the collar supposed to go inside the brake housing (this is how i installed it) my main question is,is the collar supposed to be orientated correctly behind the brake housing,( tight on the splines) it seems to spin unless i install it a certain way then it slides on the splines

Do you have a service manual for this machine? The diff lock
collar goes on the outside of brake housing in the box housing along with the fork on right side brake housing.

i unfortunately do not have a service manual for it,pic of spline engagment,am i using the wrong collar?,also if it is too big is that why i have to install it inside the brake housing?

That’s not the right cross shaft for diff lock.

actually think i just figured it out,the diff lock cover and internals didn't come off a 480c but doesn't matter the only differences is the collar,A142029 (left) is listed as the correct and looking at the picture given it doesn't have the step up in size like mine does the one i have is looks like a A156373 (right pic)
