Hello currently have a case 580
Super K backhoe, customer had rear output seal leaking, upon inspection we saw that that main rear shaft bearing has failed. Does it require pulling trans apart or can be pulled from back? Pictures attached

Need to clear up something here..... Pictures you have uploaded seem to be for a SN & not SK.
There's a massive difference in configuration between the two models.

In saying that, trying to pull that bearing, with the shaft still fitted presents quite the challenge.
If you remove the snap ring, there maybe the possibility to use a bearing seperator to engage the snap ring groove in the bearing - but it may break the bearing due to the interference fit between bearing & shaft & bearing & housing.

You could also grind a couple of bolts (to a ball shape end & flats on each side) to slide between the inner & outer bearing race, twist them 90 degrees so they engage the inner & outer races & weld them to the bearing. Then use a puller to suit.

My worry is that if one bearing looks like that, others need changing too....

Sorry! Yes super N
And yeah customer has asked to just try to replace bearing as machien has already cost him to much, he was hosed for 16k on breaks by a dirty mechanic. Tried to heat bearing and use puller but did not seem to be moving, but just by the look of the bearing it should be able to be done. Behind it is thrust washer and gear. No signed of a tapper that would stop it from coming rearward out? Could be wrong
