UPDATE! If any one is wondering how long an aftermarket axle might last, I'm going to say 6 months!
I just heard it was broken today. I'm not sure how this will play out.
I know this is an old thread but have you had any more dealings with this machine? I have just got an after market axle I am looking to make work on my early 85xt with the inboard seal by opening up the spacer like you did on your first repair- it seams like a futile effort if both machines in this thread axles broke so soon!

I'm currently still running on the version two axle I put on after my aftermarket axle broke. It's been about 3 years now.

New from Case or a used one? From what I could tell it was going to be $1500 getting it from CNH. Thanks for the reply.

I don't know what happened next, I'm sure the customer was not happy with our repair
I ran into this a few years ago so I took a torch and heated my spacer white hot on the edge drove it over the splines with a pipe and hammer till it looked right I don’t have pictures but it turned out perfect still working
