Cat 259b3 no power to shut off solenoid

So looking at the schematics for this machine it seems that the shut off solenoid and the primer pump are on the same circuit, seeing that I am getting voltage to the primer pump when i turn the key on it runs for a few seconds then shuts off which I think is the normal operation of it. So looks like it must just be a break from somewhere between the pump and solenoid. If I connect the solenoid to the 12v on the primer pump would it just turn on for a few seconds and then shut off or would it run? Seeing that the two supposed to be on the same circuit anyways.Can anyone help me s/n yyz03134
