Cat 325a L Slow bucket curl/ fast when the boom/stick is moved.

Just got a 1994 cat 325A L. The bucket curl is slow until another function is used. Also (maybe related or not) the swing is weak at times. Could be the it's better if something else is going on.
I have the operator and maintenance manual on the way, but figured I would ask the experts if they knew if this could be a valve issue?
