Hello, hope everyone is doing well! I have a 1999 cat 426c backhoe. Serial number 1YR1517. The lenses for the hazard/turn signals were broken. The bulbs were burned out. Been that way for a while so I replaced them. Turn signals and hazards still don’t work. So I went to the fuse block. The fuse block in the steering column has the main fuse for the lights. It’s all good. There is a tie in to the fuse block in the head liner. This is where it gets weird. Should simply be able to put the two 10 amp fuses in where directed. But they will not remain in place. Upon further inspection, there is no wire coming from the harness into the fuse block for these two fuses. I thought maybe they got pushed out over the years, but there is no wire at all. Everything else that’s supposed to be there is. So the question is, do some of these machines have alternate set ups vs what’s in the manual? These lights did work at some point. The switch on the left side of the steering wheel used to turn the signals on doesn’t light up with that green arrow anymore either. Also, the hazard light switch should light up when engaged and it doesn’t. That could just be the bulb in the switch. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Love this forum and thank you!
