Hi All

We have a Caterpillar 980H that suddenly has no lift or tilt, and it feels like no pressure at brake pedal

Quick background:
Loader was hassle free for the 12 months we have owned it but after a job finished went into workshop to get a lift and a tilt sensor resealed which was completed, and loader was moved to a different workshop with all implements functioning
Our fitters then replaced a park brake cable and after this the issues seemed to have begun
Once cable was replaced, they went to test loader again, but the lift and tilt arms would not work - connected ET to the loader and there are no faults showing but it shows the implement lock out switch functioning and the levers can be calibrated.

Following a previous thread, we pumped the brake pedal a few times, but this did not seem to help the situation

Would appreciate any help or advise

Start with a Serial Number please.
You have ET. Can you download a Product Status Report in pdf and post it up here.

Do you mean replaced.? Resealed makes no sense to me. Were the two sensors successfully calibrated after whatever repair.?
Hi Nige

We have ET but not fully sure if it will allow us doing a product report

Sorry when I say resealed I mean the tilt and lift cylinders were taken to a engineering shop to get fully rebuilt to go back into service

by that do you mean that you can see the status of the implement lock switch change from locked to unlocked and back again on ET.?
Nige

Yes we can see on the ET status group that the implement lock switch changes from lock to unlocked each time we flick the switch
It also shows it when we lock the implement to do the cab lever calibrations

Even if it is only Customer ET it should be able to produce a PSR. See this LINK that will walk you through the process. The only two things you have to remember on a machine compared to an engine is to check the "Select All ECMs" box and to select the download to be in pdf form because the standard is a .CSV file.

Hi All

I followed a previous thread here and bled the pilot pump of air in the oil , took some time but all functions returned and are now working, calibrated my levers and linkage sensors and it goes all good

Only issue now is my kickback wont calibrate no matter what we do
Changed switchs , magnets at the levers and recalibrated the lever and linkage sensors and still no kickout or kickback

Do you mean the return-to-dig kickout.?
Nothing in the way of Codes I take it.?

This has a PWM sensor for the tilt angle position. Does your ET show the sensor duty cycle changing as the bucket moves.? You said the sensors were calibrated. Did the procedure work first time or did it fight you.?

Sorry yes mean the return to dig or auto level

No the calibration went through first time and successfully on every option

There’s no fault codes in active or logged

Il check the duty cycle but I’m almost positive it’s changing on ET

Ok my bad I thought it was the magnets held the levers in position not a solenoid
Will get all this checked

It’s not working on either tilt and lift kick out
