Came back from a trip to Chad today.:)

The background is as follows:
Our defence minister has stated that Norway is to support the Minurcat(UN) mission in Tchad, Africa, with a role 2 hospital.
The hospital is a surgical hospital with its own logistics.;)

This hospital needs some construction done at the site where its supposed to be put up.(Abeche, eastern Chad)
We are talking about water, sewer, concrete slabs, draininge and so on.
Logistics mean living areas, kitchen, garrage, parkingareas....
Everything needed for all the doctors to be operational..

I've taken a bunch of pics from the trip, i'll post construction stuff and any ells u guy's want to see.:D

Starting with the French Engineers in Abeche:

MKTEF thanks for the pic, Im interested in the 3rd machine in the line is that a Telescopell telescopic loader/ 9 ton excavator tool carrier. Ive seen a few pics on their old website a few years ago and then they kinda disapeared. I think Schaeff also made a similar machine but was phased out when Terex bought them. One other question, how handy is the knockdown blade on a grader. Take care TL

I will be looking forward to your progress pictures. Also interested in that 3rd machine. Looks like it might be a handy little unit.

JD those little Telescopelle's had a 4x4 drive and steering and had a telehandler fron end and an excavator house. It has an extendahoe I think. to run the hoe you swivel the seat inside the cab but yo ucan also swing over the front with the hoe and operat the loader from the same seat. I hace a video once of them crossing a large ditch with one. They extened the loader over the trench to the other side then pushed with the hoe and retracted the loader . It went all the way across. heres a lin kto them its slow on my computer, I dont know if it still shows a picture of the tool carrier.

Thanks for the link.
I looked and can't find it on their website. Maybe it is discontinued or something.

I seem to remember seeing one like that at Con-expo in either '05 or '02 Looked like a swiss army knife of machines. Seemed like it would be handy, but a lot of potential for downtime.

I suspect it is like most things in that the more tasks it is built to perform, the less well it performs any of them.

Is that your take?

The German company Schaeff now Terex used to make one similar that was built like a mare conventional lader with 2 solid arms like a normal loader and then the top part had an excavator. it looked to be more like a TLB set up it did have quick changes but it seemed a bit heavier made and more suited to excavator work being all around more beefy.

You are both right!:)

Lets go over to some white stuff.
UN is taking over after EUfor on 15.march, so they are mowing in.
Going a bit slow because PEA is their construction entrepreneur.(a loockheed firm)

By the way; I hear rumors that PAE is bankrupt. Have searched for any info around that but found nothing.(was some stuff about the contract in Sudan, but no new news)
Any of u guys know anything about that?

Then the white stuff:

A example of poor camp planning. Its from the Swedish camp in Abeche.

They are my worst nightmare when i'm planning our camp down there.

The rolled ambulance is just outside the camp.

Pics taken by the Finnish Eufor guy's.
