I am in need of pricing information for a third valve kit to operate a ripper on a 2006 D5G XL dozer. The local Caterpillar dealer states that there is no kit per se, only individual parts. Is that an absolute? :Banghead Pricing information would certainly be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

What you need is a forth valve kit and not a third valve.

There are three valves for the PAT blade. The forth valve is the ripper.

John C. Thanks for your clarification! I have historically heard these referred to as a 3rd valve kit. If it is a 4th valve so be it. Does anyone have any pricing information?

The serial on this machine is WGB03475. Only the valve and piping kit is needed, no ripper assembly.
Thanks in advance

Hi 72ih354, if it turns out there isn't an OEM kit for your machine, or it turns out to be terribly expensive if there is, an alternative is installing a 6-way diverter valve in one of the blade functions. You could do it with a manual selcector valve or a solenoid operated. Let's say you plumb it into the dozer blade up/dwn function. In normal operation, you lift or lowering blade. Switch the diverter valve, now the lever for blade up/dwn will raise or lower ripper. Here's a link to Brand Hydraulic valves for you to check out. ;)
