Hy gents,
Having problems with our D5H, at TXM level.
Machine came from auction, had several problems and many tweeks and turns, wich i almost fix all.
Engine is very good for the Age and usage condition, hour metter stoped @ 12k. Machine overcondition confirms. Nevertheless we´ve been experiencing TXM problems.

When machine gets hot, after 2/3 hours working it exibits problems engaging gears, and acts funny. sometimes does not want to engage whithout being rev up. When cold it shifts well and shutles well. Brakes well and turns well. even when hot and starts to having engaging problems it brakes and steers well.

We´ve been doing some corrections on the machine, last was some hydraulic lines on the GB system were out of place and some tubing was connected wrong , the TXM pump intake pipe was bent and it was a silicone hose, we got the impression it was colapsing when hot.
We found the debris on the TXM sreen that u can see on the pictures, our question is what u guys think is this too much debris or its a common sight in a machine this old.

After this corrections we´ve done, we havent test the machine untill really hot. But we´ve noticed some pressure decrease operating the steer clutches, the gauge hooked on P1 port.
Can someone help us with the procedure for testing leakeage at Clutch and brake system?

Thanks for your imput.

Hy gents,
After spending some more time searching for our problem, found out some strange things...
Looks like someone installed the TC bottom strainer wrong... no way to tell if debris went out...
Found out the main TXM filter collapsed, this filter was new some 40 or so hours ago. As per the pictures, looks like the situation was caused by friction material ? is not the bypass valve there to prevent such a situation? I guess its time for TXM out... For the experts is there a chance that all this fiction material came out from the steer/brake system?
Right now we will install either a repaired TXM pump or a new aftermarket junk. Assuming the one we taken out is dead, HYD shop will test it. And replace whatever friction disks are over...

Nevertheless, i would like to know how u guys test the Brake and steer clutches for piston leak, I really suspect some leakeage in there.
i´d apreciate very much this info, i´m no way on the mood to dissasemble those units to repair right now, unless we have a serious leakage/ damage.

Thanks

Some update,
TXM pump is over, several key components in there done, new one coming in the way. Sorry got no pictures of it. Guess the oil pressure culprit was found.

Removed transmission , and what... nothing wrong in there. All frictions good despite 6 of them are of strange quality and were worn out of spec by .3mm , wich is not a real problem i guess.
Clutch piston #2 had a small leak and ring dented in a section, but not broken was still sealing.
One trust disk had a tip broken, parts were still there.

Nevertheless trans was done in the past, i suspect who did it missed some items, i could not find the 6 trust disk mentioned in the parts list.... can someone show its expertise?

Also the Diff Pinion/Crown backlash seemed a bit off, but i got no idea of that number, maybe someone know it.

Certainly those debris above came from somewhere, looks like the steer/brake system, as initialy suspected.

Situation is at this point,
After some chat with a old timer, and friend, wich still owns some equipment and once had the first D4H´s sold in my country, he mentioned that TXM´s last a pretty long time, ussually are seals the main source of problems, and the Servo Pump´s need some atention.( guess he mean they wore out). He also mentioned that everitime They did tracks they would inspecct and reseal clutch and brake packs.

After this chat realized that my tractor problem and others alike is just preventive maintenance.

For the moment we will intall a new crap china servo pump,
Transmission was inspected and took 6 new frictions, had some strange rotten frictions, but nothe the source off this debris above as they were intact, and a damaged trust plate, new seals on the clutch pistons and tranfer gallery.
Steer and brakes, are still on the machine, plan is to inspect and reseal.

Saga going,
Steer/brake cluch module inspected, nothing found at the xception of leaking piston rings and some debris in the piston chamber, as suspected before.
Steer clutches piston rings exibited evident signs of leakeage, much more than the brake pistons, nevertheless piston ring sealing its much more sensitive to leakeage.

TXM system has now almost all components overhauled, at the exceptions of the TC and Brake/steer valve system. Lets see how it turns out.
