Intermittent Engine oil pressure warning light and alarm along with 036 code 100.03 (Engine Oil Pressure Sensor Voltage Above Normal)

Verified good oil pressure and installed new cat sensor with no success

Machine does not derate with alarm

Voltages seem to be correct at sensor with and without the alarm and light active

Problem does not occur until mid day and under constant load (90-100 degree ambiant temps) and engine temps within normal ranges but on the higher end

Something is telling me the ecm is getting heat soaked and a component within is not happy with the higher temps

If the machine is allowed to idle for about 5 minutes and cool off some after alarm activated said light and alarm will turn off and stay off for 30-45 minutes and the process repeats.

Had anyone had a similar issue? And if so what was the root cause?
If not what route would you go in diag without tracing and ohming everything as the first route

Thanks

Try the attached troubleshooting procedure but you'll have to do it while the Code is Active, engine hot in other words.

I will run through that procedure tomorrow as I have left for the day and report my findings

Yet again Thank you nige

.03 FMI (voltage high) almost always points to an open circuit in the loom. The fact its heat related may be not a true open(yet) but a high resistance that increases with engine temperature.
As above, you may have to get the machine up to temperature to diagnose, but i would also wiggle the plugs and loom when not faulting and see if you can induce a failure.

Went through some of those trouble shooting procedures whenever the alarm would become active and have yet to find a fault

I’ve touched every plug and every bit of wiring related to the sensors in the diag procedures to try and cause a failure without luck

Tensioner for the fan belt let go yesterday afternoon(2:30pm) and the machine had not set off any alarms or lights when it would’ve started by 11am normally

I replaced tensioner pulley bearings and fan belts this morning and have been running since and haven’t had any issues so far

So long story short no findings yet but other problems arose as is normal with old equipment
