Machine was working yesterday, whenever the operator idled down the machine would throw the fault code 596-9, the operator would shut the machine off, restart and the machine would run fine at high idle until the next idle down. Symptoms are throwing the fault code, dash and gauges flickering and audible alarm. Machine has ran fine for 3/4 of the day today. its started throwing codes again and now sometimes shifts to neutral when tracking.
Not overly experienced on Cat gear but from what I understand it's a communication error between computers. Was planning on checking connections for loose plugs but also looking for other pointers
Machine background, my company brought the machine 2nd hand a few year ago as a drowned machine and repaired it
Thanks in advance

CID596 FMI09 refers to a lack of communication with the Implement ECM.
Based on your description of the symptoms have you checked the system voltage when the machine is running.? What happens to it when you reduce the RPM from High Idle to Low Idle.?

27.8v at low and high idle, had a Cat tech come out to it, they diagnosed a faulty resistor in one of the CAN lines, changed it but the machine faulted again after about 45min of operation, after the tech had left. The machine then started faulting again with only the key on but engine not running. Cat are coming back to it on monday
