Hello all that are reading this.

So I have a problem that most dealers encounter at some point, excess inventory. Specifically of Gates hydraulic fittings. What do ya'll do with excess hydraulic supplies? Or excess anything for that matter. I am just looking for new avenues/ideas to get rid of the old inventory.

Don't scrap old inventory. Load it on pallets and have a parking lot sale when the weather is nice.
A fitting that weighs next to nothing is worth next to nothing as scrap.
If say your normal price for said fitting is $20. price it at $1. or $2. those few bucks are way more than scrap price. Offer a good deal for bulk as well.

I have been in the wholesalers and there is quite often a table for old inventory marked down and a rack for short cuts of hose or wire. Cam

Are they not common fittings or you went to a different brand? Curious why there are so many of them.

We used to use them as counterweight fill on our log loaders along with nuts and bolts that got swept up off the floor. Company figured the weren't worth the time it took to sort them back into the right bins. d.d.

I worked with a guy once who swept the floor when he was done with a job.

It was amazing the amount of **** he considered surplus.

Some of it looked kinda critical to mission, no matter.
