I was just wondering if there is any way to tell when a hydraulic pump is getting near its end. I have a 2004 deere 270C with a little over 9000hrs on it. Everything seems to run fine and I have owned it for the last 200 or so hours, but from what I have seen it seems that it is not uncommon for the pumps to fail between 10 and 12,000 hours. Just wondered if there was a relatively simple test to determine if its getting near the end of its life. I would rather deal with it before it blows up and sends filings and other debris through the system if possible. But given their cost and the limited amount I used it I dont want to replace it prematurely.
