That's one of my only reasons for still using them for weather. They keep coming up with sneaky ways to defeat ad-blocking techniques, and I can't stand all the extra "stuff".

For just looking at still aerial images, check out www.flashearth.com. It let's you switch between Google Earth Images, MS Virtual Earth, Yahoo Maps, Ask.com, and others seamlessly on the fly.
