EX200 Series Differences

Hello all. I'm a first time poster. But have been following this site for quite a while. I did read through everything i could find here but still have a few questions. A little background may be helpful. First, i do all my own wrenching, machinging of parts, electrical work and welding. I started out with a Case 580C, which I've been slowly fixing up as it was a rather abused machine when I got it. I've rebuilt about half of the hydraulic cylinders so far, along with changing some of the hydraulic lines. Also rebuilt the injection pump as it was leaking into the crankcase. I also have an very old JSW BH70 excavator that I was going to restore but decided it's too far gone for that. Which brings me to why I'm posting. I managed to acquire a 1996 Hitachi EX200-1 and need some guidance. It needs a bunch of work but it runs well. One issue I have is i don't have the serial number or model number as I can't find any of the data plates it's supposed to have. I'm given to understand however that it's a -1 version. So first question is, can someone please give me a short course on the EX200 versions and how I can tell them apart so I can verify what I have? Also, I already have the service manual and operators manual but the photos in the service manual are rather poor. I'm wondering if someone could please point me to a reasonable quality service manual and parts book. I need to repair a few hydraulic leaks and fix the electrical system and know the information Will be very helpful, having travelled this road before. I'm going to get it back in top shape, partly because I need to but mostly because I enjoy the work. It's quite rewarding. Post a picture of your machine, engine and the instrument panel. That might help the Hitachi people with identifying your machine.

Nice machine, I love the simplicity of mine. The serial should be stamped into chassis (heavy plating) in front of, and at the base of, the main boom cylinders, might hace to scrape back the paint. I couldn't find any other chassis identifier on mine. I ended up downloading my manuals off tradebit. The quality isn't great (it's all scanned in from a book), but it's ok. Parts wise I've had great luck with Wajax. I use mine on the farm, and they have been generous giving a break on parts. You also have VI equipment in Nanoose bay, haven't bought from them but I believe they sell new and used parts.
I'll be out working with mine later, and will take a picture of the serial and it's location for you.

Like 200lc1 said, there should be a serial number stamped on the front of the upper structure, between the boom cylinders. What do you have for a throttle? A Dash 1 machine used a throttle lever where the Dash 2&3 machines used a series of buttons. If you can post a picture that would be good.

We also can recognize machine model by gauge cluster.

This is right between the boom cylinder attach fittings.
