What are your steps of installing storm pipe out once the structure is set? We start out by pulling a string line from center of structure(draw mark on top of structure where center is) to next grade stake, paint on ground the line, setup David white behind existing structure with plum bob centered on string line and align to next stake, place pipe laser centered in structure with plum bob on stringline, use brick to adjust pipe to invert grade in structure, center pipe in structure with laser beam and set laser target, adjust bell of pipe(uphill side) to center with laser target, check with david white, haunch first pipe, grade for next pipe, set and home pipe, adjust bell to target, haunch pipe, and repeat, adjust target left to right for first couple sticks to make sure to be in line. Just curious if other people do steps differently and what works best for you. Any tips would be much appreciated!

Sounds like you got it covered to me.If you can build the manhole to grade before you proceed digging one can stand on top and eye ball looking at centre line stakes and centre of pipe bell. Double check your laser is set to right grade. If your using a rotating laser make sure its orientated right so you don't lay your pipe downhill instead of uphill. The lay of the land can be deceiving and you don't always catch it until you take a shot with the level witch might be several hundred feet to the next structure or manhole. It sucks digging pipe back up and relaying it. Been there.

We do it by eye for alignment, grade based on plans and checked via rotating laser. 5 guys is ideal but we usually only get about 2-3. Always have a level on hand because laser can lie but the bubble can’t ;). I wouldn’t do it any other way unless it is like 3 million dollar job.
