Hi Fella's I will be working on a pile of iron in a couple of weeks in fairbanks alaska and there are 3 dozers a trackhoe, forklift and dumptruck that need some work I have worked on skidders, dozers, cranes, jammers, etc as well as underground mining equipment. The problem I will have is that the equipment is old if not antique and manuals are gonna be tough to locate.

I am sure the iron will give me many headaches and was wondering? I am new to this site but want to know if I can get help with the older stuff as well as the newer?

Welcome to the site 6-hole-burn.

I bet if someone here knew the equipment you'de be working on they'de help.
Best way would be to list the equipment when you've come to a problem,and see if someone responds.Everyone seems helpful,providing they're familiar with the equipment.

Another place that deals with older equipment(dozers,etc.)is "yesterday's tractors"They have a Q/A forum also,that may help out.Sorry I don't have a link.

Off topic,I spent my early years(early/mid 70's)just outside Fairbanks,at Eilsen AFB.What a beautiful place to grow up!!:thumbsup

I have found a lot of older manuals on e-bay. and in Fairbanks there are a lot of shops that work on old iron so I am sure you can find help there also.

here's my bunch of orphans

This will be my headaches for the spring this and the mosquito's LOL the D4 is the most important it's first up any hints or downloads to the goodies of this specific machine is very welcome.

I haven't even seen this equipment as of yet.

But it will get my foot in the door of Alaska and that's what is important to me right now in life.
some of this is very simple and not a worry but all advice on any complicated not well known procedures is appriciated

any thing about any of this iron is very welcome.

here's my list:

Late 50s Wagner Scoupmobile, 1.25 yrd front end loader.
Needs clutch and steering hydraulics tweaked.

1984 JD550 dozer, front idler bearing.

1991 mitsubishi D3 size dozer, rear main seals and
track tensioning seals.

TCM 3.5 ton forklift, in-frame rebuild.

53 cat D4, should just need carb for pony and fluids
changed.

1981 Mack 5yrd dump, radiator replaced and lift pump

old Murphy 8" pump, should just need servicing
