That is possible..The bolt pattern on the filler plate is the same as the grille. Makes me think it was a mistake. Yes trucks were always changing. My truck does not have eye brows over the headlights like all the rest and my dash was also a one only thing. There is more

Did you give any thought to removeable actuators on the outside? Would have a nicer look without them I think. Super cool trucks!

I noticed this before but never gave it any thought. There is a filler plate under the grille. Looks like some one screwed up when the made the grille. Bolt holes are 1 inch center to center apart.. I will look at other trucks and see if they have it..

Mine does not have the filler plate. The grill bolts directly to the hood.

Up date...I got no where with the fabrication company that has already built two aluminum Grizzly hoods. If and when I go that route I will just get mine drawn up. I have been working with the actuator company and we have it all figured out. They strongly suggest the actuators stay on the outside in the event of a failure. I sent all my info/math to the head engineer where i used to work and he said I am good to go. I will be useing 85% of the actuators capacity. I will order everything next week..This will be interesting. Cory

My friend is coming this week to help me on the Grizzly. Mainly wiring a few things up. I have everything ready and am going to let him do all climbing around and crawling on the ground stuff. Yesterday I fired up my 68 Fastback that has the 427 FE in it. Its been 20 years since I heard that engine run. It went well..

It would appear I cannot post the video...481202154_1174389227721644_2004325838131037348_n.jpg427 003 (2).JPG427 002.JPG06 05 2025.jpg

My friend Josh came over today and we finished some upgrades to the Grizzly. I can now fill up the front air bags from inside the truck.A 12V air line switch was installed and the old grid heater wiring and switch were used to control it. I have a air pressure gauge in the dash. Reverse lights are all sorted out. Grizzly just put a switch on the dash. Now has the switch in the trans...The list is getting short...

Is it a side oiler? How much H.P.?
It is actually a center oiler. Side oilers have no advantage on the street and most of them are in rough shape. My crank and rods are still std and the over bore is only .017. It is close to 500 Hp but no more. I kept things conservitave. It is a torque monster. My other 2 427's were side oilers and they are now in Cobra replicas. One of which I put together at Cardiac Cobra. It was a stroker motor

Very nice! I can't tell if it's green or blue? Do you own the Cobra too, I've read side Oilers were designed to give proper lubrication during sustained high RPM operation. Several Cobra's actually came with 428's because of a shortage of side oilers. Shelby had to replace some with side oilers but the 428 was a better engine for normal driving. Just like 440's were less finicky than 426 Hemi's for the street. I think it might be difficult to drive a Cobra normally though. It's one of those cars that look fast sitting still!

You are correct. Just about all 427 Cobra street cars had 428's.I worked for 2 different company's building them and long lost count of how many I have driven.. They can be a handfull

I had a magazine all about Cobra's. Dick Smith was apparently the winningest Cobra driver. He said you had to steer a Cobra with the throttle! He still owned his Cobra and the engine was rebuilt and bored out to 468CI if I recall. I think he did some vintage racing. He had the same mechanic for years that looked after it. His Cobra was red which seemed unusual. I can't recall hearing if it was ever sold. With it's provenance might be worth as much as the $5mil. Super Snake.
