Here is another lil side project I'm working on.

My side job is about to close the deal on a new SS-40 T drill rig.
My task is to get the rig from Enid, Ok. to Indio, Ca.
I have yet to sit down and start making any phone calls
so I thought I'd post this here to see if anyone might be willing to put some #'s together.
My other option is to do it myself but the tractor I'd use has a walk in...
So that wont work.
The tractor must be a conventional / flat top otherwise things are gonna get smashed.
Realistically....I'm looking at somewhere around mid March for this to happen.

Feel free to PM me...
or Email me at Suffacated@aol.com
or call me @ 7603937746.

Also...
I've got 60,000 lbs of drill collar somewhere in Ohio to haul to Indio, Ca.
I'll know more on this soon.

Below is what info I have from Newsom Industries web site.

SS-40 T (Trailer Mounted)
drilling rig from GEFCo, (George E Failing) / Speedstar.

This modern table-drive rotary drilling rig is used for large diameter and deep water wells, for oil & and gas wells, and for minerals exploration.

The SS-40 drilling machine can be set up for conventional mud or air drilling, or for large diameter flooded-reverse rotary drilling.

This rig is powered by a 500 hp. Mercedes Diesel engine, via an Allison Model 754 transmission.

The standard 18" rotary table has 150,000 inch pounds torque at 100 RPMs, is the oil bath enclosed type, with spiral cut gears, and has an 18" opening with API master bushing removed. The standard table can be hinged forward to provide a 27" square opening.

The mast is rated at 176,000 pounds gross mast capacity, with 60 foot working clearance above the rotary table, has a climbing ladder, and channel tracks for retracting the swivel and kelly.

The double drum draw-works are 22,000 pound bare-drum single-line pull, and with 6-part line provide 116,000 pounds maximum hook load with the traveling block at bottom, and 92,250 pounds working load with the block at the top of the mast.

Standard kelly is 40 ft. x 4-1/4" square. Other sizes are available.

Rig has two hydraulic powered Catworks, for breakout and spinning. Suitable rollers are provided on drill to guide spinning chains. Two cat-line rope spools.

The standard swivel has a 3" opening, and 3" piping. Others available.

Rig comes with two Type F tongs.

Hydromatic brake is standard feature.

Rig is furnished with a weight indicator with metric or English dial.

Trailer is constructed of structural steel, reinforced and electrically welded. Equipped with three 25,000 pound axles, 75,000 pound suspension, 11:00 x 20 14-ply tires and syteel wheels. Three stairways are standard with hand railing and walkways all around.

The kelly will be shiped at a later date.

I don't have the exact measurements or weights yet, but will post asap.

This rig is brand new....so chances are good that the brakes and lights will work.
