I’ve been lurking and reading stuff for a while, very informative and helpful stuff on here!
I have
CASE 360 trencher (work)
CASE 580SK backhoe (work)
Bobcat E26 mini excavator (work)
CASE 580SL backhoe (personal)
Reading on here I saw someone else use a horse stall mat to replace an old worn out floor mat for a backhoe so I did that for the Super K this winter, also replaced some floor panels that were getting a bit rough. Also put whatever it’s called that auto tilts the bucket and you raise it back together, someone took it off like 16 years ago and I found it the other week. I’d love to get the return to dig fixed but so far I’ve tested the sensor, switch on the tilt linkage is bad, and from what I can tell the magnetic detent seems to be bad as well.
On the Super L the steering cylinder was leaking pretty bad so I replaced the two seals on that and while it was in the garage I did the two tilt cylinders that were seeping, should have done the hoses while I was at it since they blew 2 months later ♂️ the steering ball joints were bad on the left side (driver side) so they got replaced and the angled one on the right side (passenger side) was stripped when I took the nut off so it also got replaced!
360 Trencher I haven’t done much with besides add a fuel pump to the fuel line, change the chain on the back, as well as the sprockets. It does seem to lose power the longer it runs (heats up) on the backhoe (front) as you move it side to side it’ll sometimes just drop the boom to the ground, but still has plenty of power to dig!
E26 has only had basic maintenance and 1 cylinder rebuilt and straightened, it’s the main boom lift cylinder. I think someone hit it with a piece of concrete grabbed in the thumb not paying attention. I plan to do a maintenance on it soon but I’m waiting on fluids to show up before I take it out of commission.
I also acquired a crane truck last year for pulling well pumps, the truck was shot but the crane works great! The old 1988 ford had a pto and the new truck doesn’t so learned a ton about engines and hydraulics to make it work, then wired in a wench wireless controller and once it’s setup (stabilizers down, mast up) you can control the lifting and lowering from like 150’ away which is cool. I think the crane was a Smeal or something, my brother knows more about that then I do he’s the one that wanted it and the main person that runs it.
