Hitachi ex 220 lc-3 jumpy hydraulics

The hydraulics on my hitachi ex 220 lc-3 keep shutting off. It acts like it strains and then the pump kicks off or something. It gets better after about a half hour but still kicks off whenever you try to use too much power at once. Is this really bad or could it just be some kind of valve I could change?
