I just wanted to share this tool I put together for pulling two really stuck injectors out of a 4.236 on my project 416 backhoe.
When I was looking around for tips I found a post by the same name. Lots of good suggestions - slide hammer, air hammer.
I think this worked just as well as anything could have, so I wanted to offer it up to the next guy who googles the same question as an option to think about.
It's just a piece of angle iron with another (though probably not needed) stiffener piece welded on the near side underneath.
1/2 threaded rod with nuts welded over 5/8 holes. Center hole was drilled out as tight as possible to the 12mm threads on top of the injector, with a little taper drilled on bottom to snug up the injector even better.
Found lug nuts that threaded the top of the injector to use. M12 1.5 Threads.
The 1/2 rod had nuts welded on top so a socket could still slip on. I took the edge off on the bottom of each rod on the belt sander so no chance the threads or a stiff edge would dig into the block.
Long socket wrench and just gave each side small turns and sure enough both injectors popped loose pretty easily.
Don't overdo either side. Little turns, as even as possible.
The copper seating washers didn't come out with any of the injectors, but that tapered screwdriver trick worked easily to get ahold of them and lift out.
Hope this idea may help someone else!
