idler adjustment problem

why did the grease fitting on the idler adjustment shaft turn to the bottom? how can i turn it back so i can put grease in from the side? this is a kobelco sk200lc mark iv excavator.

it just turns there is suppose to be a little keeper tab on the rod that sits in a piece of angle but it's usually gone. if you move you track so most of the tension is off the idler you should be able to twist the rod to line the fitting back up
