kevink,

i have maxed out factory recommended speeds on cones and impactors. results are increased production, increased wear and higher shaft and bearing temps which will result in shorter life overall for the entire machine. expect the same from speeding up the jaw. also a good side affect of speeding things up along with higher production is the particle size is over all smaller, what occurs is each rock gets hit an additional amount of times while it is in the crushing chamber......TIO

Kevink:

Totally agree with theironoracle. The speeding can be up , but the working life of the jaw crusher will be shorter. Should consider this point.

You can install a shorter toggle board and add more shims. This will increase stroke at the bottom of the dies and increase production w/o increasing RPM. This will increase stresses on the lower end of jaw frame. I think by increasing RPM you'll get a finer product w/ no appreciable increase in production as all you've accomplished is decrease the amount of time the jaw is at max opening. The only good answer to this is a bigger jaw. And if you're still set on increasing RPM's, first price out a full set of bearings + removal/ installation. The mfgrs give max RPM for a good reason.

New jaw dies will make a huge improvement in production and will take pressure off of bearings and shafts cooling them down. Be sure to search long and hard for jaw dies for "secondary" reduction. Is this a true secondary jaw? Like 15x40 or? ....TIO

So do you have a cone or impactor to bring product down to 1" minus? Or is the 15x36 trying to do it all?

Do you have a screen to get rid of the fines made by the 30x42 and then return the oversize to the 15x36 on a closed circuit. This would be a big help for the 15x36. You'll need the 15x36 closed up pretty tight to prevent run around else it will be running full and it will need long breaks in the feed to relieve it. If you can keep both jaws full w/ occasional breaks for the little one that will be max production
