I have a john deere 27zts that has blown out 2 track adjusters on the left hand side. I got a spare when I purchased the machine (used) so I can't coment on the spares quality. The spare blew out after 4 hours of work. Just moving around, no pushing or climbing.
1. It Could the spring on the adjuster is seized and it is the grease and seals absorbing the impacts?
2. The top idler does sound gritty and should be replaced but does turn freely with no binding. Could this be locking up under load?
3. The lower idlers are nice and tight and roll smooth. The front idler turns nice with no grinding. I actually thought this was the problem
I am going to price out a new top idler but The adjuster is over 1000.00 Cnd. Ugh.
I am going to ask the local hydraulic shop for a price to rebuild the original and the spare. Anyone have any luck with that
any suggestions, recommendations are welcomed
