Komatsu PC 200 LC-7

Looking at a 2006 200-7 has 10,000 hrs on it. Supposedly has all service records and serviced very well. Owned by a big contractor company in texas. Typical wear but not really beat up. Do you all think this think might run for a while with some decent luck? Thanks Guys for any input. Ive owned serveral old dozers but never owned an excavator but I do have thousands of hours on everything from minis to 350 cat and 400 Komatsu's.

I have a PC220-7 that lives in the bush year round -gets shut down in October and restarted in June. I put probably 500hrs/yr on it over the past 8 years and it has been pretty reliable. We just swapped the Komatsu engine out to a 6BT this spring and gave it a updated lease on life. I did have a issue with some broken ground wires under the cab but other than that and the engine its been great.

How many hours did the motor make it? And how many hours on your pump? I thought the dash 7 already had cummins in it

The motors in the Komatsu excavators depend on where the machine was meant to be sold. Machines in north America generally got the Cummins. The machines meant for Asia generally got the Komatsu engine. I'm not sure what the machines meant for Europe got put in them.

I didn't have to work on these very much. I do remember being told that there were some problems with the harness connectors in the middle of the machine having rain run down the wires and into the harness connectors. They would short out and make a mess of the electrical systems. Good maintenance on the machines would see 7,000 hours on the pumps before problems. Most machines only got run with poor maintenance. With that many hours I would expect some slop in all the joints, usually tired undercarriage, lots of little leaks because of hoses and seals and usually the AC and heat in the cab no longer worked. Does your machine have a thumb?

The one i'm looking at does not. But for sure I would want one.
