komatsu pc160-7 start up problem

hello, i own a 2007 komatsu pc160-7, when i turn my machine off while it hot it doesn't start back unless it cools down. i dont think its a overheating issue. even if i prime the injection pump it still doesn't start up. also i dont kno if it is linked but if the machine is idle and the auto deceleration come on, or i turn the rev down, when i turn the rev back up the machine dies out when any lever is pulled which almost always turns the machine off. i would have to slighty touch the lever let the auto deceleration turn off, leave it the engine accelerating for about 2-3 seconds then work the machine. can anyone help me with this issue? my monitor's lcd went bad so i cant read any anything from the display

I don't do electronics, which seems to not be a problem if you don't do electronics either. Your problem MIGHT BE electronic, then you really have a problem.

If it's fuel, we can figure it out easy enough. IF the engine has an inline injection pump of Japanese make, then the first thing to check is whether there is a banjo bolt on the BOTTOM of the transfer pump, that's the inlet and there's a screen screwed INSIDE of that banjo bolt. Remove the bolt, use a straight screwdriver to unscrew the screen and blow the crud out of it. Otherwise, add a fuel pressure gauge between the filter and injection pump and see what the fuel pressure does when it won't start, or at the moment it's stalling.

If that's not what you have, does your engine blow smoke out the exhaust when trying to start it hot? I assume it cranks over at normal speed, but doesn't fire on any of the cylinders, is that right? Also, does it blow any visible smoke when it stalls?

If you have the serial number of the machine it may help us figure out what fuel system you have on the engine. The early 160LC-7's had a stepper motor that controlled the inline injection pump, while the later serial number machines were Tier3 with a common rail fuel system.

Some models have an electromagnetic shutdown solenoid mounted on the injection pump, similar to the 6bt Dodge pickups, they can get heat soaked and fail to pull in.
