Reheating a solder connection is always -a good first choice- as the electronics could have been soldered with one of many types of solder.
A lot of manufactures use Sn-Ag-Cu (tin-silver-copper) solder. Silver migration will sometimes occur in silver based solder causing a poor 'low voltage' connection. Reheating the connection will fix it.

so this problem is common on pc50. i have the same issue. I tried disconnecting and reconnecting the battery while the ignition swithc is on. It worked but after starting the engine, the diplay turned off again including lights and buzzer.

Bringing up an old thread! The gauges on my 2007 komatsu just quit working. They will come on very randomly but don't work again if you shut the key off. Does anyone have an answer for this problem. I really don't want to go to the dealer if possible.
same problem
