Hi all, here is my introduction to Loadquip, a supplier of custom specialised equipment to the mining and heavy industry sectors since 1995.

Loadquip has the capability of designing and building specialised machines and equipment ranging in size from a few kilograms to hundreds of tonnes. Recent projects include the complete design and supply of 115, 150, 300, 385 & 450 tonne Low Loaders, Salt Harvesters and specialised towing equipment for mining trucks.
Attached are images of our latest commissioned Low Loader. The Low Loader or Lowboy is capable of carrying payloads of 385t / 770,000 lbs. The low loader uses a CAT 798 or 793 Haul truck as the prime mover and is capable of traveling at 24 miles/hr unloaded and 13 miles/hr loaded.
The images show a Liebherr R 9400 (778,200 lbs) being loaded
Our unique, patented designs of Low Loader allow for the quickest loading/unloading cycle available without de-coupling the prime mover. All our Low Loaders feature oil cooled brakes and large pneumatic tyres.

Please feel free to PM me with further questions, or ask questions/comment within this thread.

You're welcome and we're glad to have you on board.

BTW I missed this on the first go around -

Please feel free to PM me with further questions, or ask questions/comment within this thread.

You followed the rules out of the gate.:)

We have so many manufactures that post threads about their products with no respect for the rules and it becomes a boilerplate response from us Mods as we appreciate our sponsors here on HEF as they are the reason the site can operate free of charge.;)

Cheers!

Following are images of one of our smaller Low Loaders / Lowboy. Three identical trailers were recently commissioned within the past six months for an Australian mining company. The Low Loader is capable of carrying payloads of 150t / 330,000 lbs and uses a CAT 785 Haul truck as the prime mover. It is primarily used to carry rotary blasthole drills, dozers and excavators around a mine site. It has features such as a completely flat deck/built in ramp which tilts to an 8° angle when loading. This allows for fast loading/unloading times (approximately 5 minutes).

That's a unique trailer design. It's pretty cool looks easier than the removable neck design we use. I take it it's not designed to tow trucks?

That is slick.

I see that the neck won't double as a tow hook for trucks, but the trailer design looks like it may facilitate hauling them. You would just need a winch or something to drag the dead truck up with.

Thank you for your comments.

The design of the trailer means that it never has to be decoupled at the goose neck. This has a variety of advantages:
• The goose neck is larger and stronger. Our design avoids stress concentrations traditionally found on a machine of this type and is resilient to fatigue stresses.
• Loading / unloading cycle time is significantly reduced (one cycle takes around 10 minutes)
• Hydraulics / electrics don’t ever have to be decoupled

Regarding trucks towing trucks – As the payload capacity of our Low Loaders / Lowboys is large a broken down haul truck can be easily transported on the deck of the Low Loader. A winch can be used to pull the broken down truck onto the deck.

I have attached some more images of one of our 450t / 992,000 lbs Low Loaders in action with other payload items, a Sandvik D90k Drill rig and a Komatsu WA1200 Wheel Loader.

The "Unique Patent" of this swing out wheel set style is a copy of the early Nooteboom Low Loader built in the 1940/50's with lots of examples still around, so its hardly a "Unique Patent" other than in Queensland???

p.s. handy bits of kit though,I would love one for my CAT 951.

Hi tctractors,
Thank you for the comment. Sorry for the late reply, it’s been a busy week :)

The main difference between our Swing Wheel Low Loaders and other Low Loader designs is that the axis that the swing arms rotate about is tilted in two planes.

Tilting the axis moves the tires upward relative to the ground when the swing arms are rotated about 90°. This creates clearance between the tyres and the ground. As a result of this, during loading, the tip of the ramp sits flat on the ground.

We feel this creates the safest and most efficient method of haul road transport for large mining machines.
