Hi, I may have a chance to buy a LX865 Turbo for around $5000. Supposedly, it has a little more than 1600 hours...but it looks fairly rough in the photos (I have not seen it in person). The tires look mostly bald and it has no bucket.

I grew up driving tractors and loaders on our family farm. Never operated a skid steer though and know very little about them. I'm just a homeowner, building on 1 acre and would like to use it in the construction of my house, moving rocks, and general landscaping type projects. Wouldn't be used heavily or often. Might even sell it after construction is done. Budget is tight.

As far as skid steers go, is this a model worth considering for around $5000...considering the balding tires and no bucket? Is it a reliable machine...or does it have known issues?

Thanks.

Buckets cheap, doubt hours are that low if looks that bad..... clusters fail all the time and a smart individual can program hours by them selves.
Tires are wear item

Don’t get much for 5k anymore these days
