Found this Mattsson in Strømstad today.:D

A 260 i would guess. 6x4.:)
Stiff frame, no articulation.

I searched for a sign on it but found nothing.
So old there is Nord-Verk on the boogie cases.
I would say around -80's. But still working for the swedish road departement.:)
And cept in good condition by the driver, maybee owner.

Tinted glass is a old invention by the Swedes as u can see.:)

Used by a asphalt company, have no clue about that special stuff on the front blade.
Is home made, but for what purpose?
Maybee to cary asphalt?

Mattsson is an old swedish brand built in Uddevalla on the west coast I do belive they were called Nordverk earlier, in the early 90is they were bought by the finnish Vammas which in turn recently was bought by the other finnish grader manufacturer Veekmas.

Excellent and correct description of Mattsson history.
I was competing against Mattsson at the time when I was selling graders in Europe. It was designed specifically for Swedish Road Authorities with fixed asymmetrical high lift system. That way they could obtain fantastic reach on the R.H. side when sloping or ditching. Note huge sideshift cylinder. They even introduced some kind of joysticks at that time.
They also introduced all kind of attachments in order to make the grader as versatile as possible. The one on the picture is tiltable 3 in 1 bulldozer blade, similar to what is used on the backhoes. I remember that they even used to fit milling machine under the frame instead of drawbar / moldboard assembly.
I believe that they made strategical mistake when they developped this grader exclusively for Scandfinavian market. They could hardly sell it anywhere else and once Scandinavian market shrank, they were left without orders.

Thanks for the pictures, I like the design from Mattson Graders. The front blade seems to be a big higher than the ones in German.

Graderfan1981, The frontblade is big beacuse its made for snowplowing, in the summertime i would prefer a smaller blade, this frontblade is made in Finland.

The front blade we need in germany for pushing earth and spread material, a higher front blade ist better for do those jobs...we make in Germany lots of bulldozing jobs with this blade, so we not always dozer need, because a grader make this works like small dozers very good ;) The dozer blade is very very important for doing more rough grading jobs with a grader... because: a grader can do more than fine grading, in Germany graders often make first dozing and then grading or sometimes both together ;) A grader operator has told me, that he would like to have a higher blade, so he can move more earth/asphalt/stones etc with it once a time.

Was this moveable too?
Here from Veekmas (which bought the rights from Mattson) has a moveable front blade, from the site is better to see:
http://www.veekmas.fi/en/company/product+development/

In Germany the frontblades can only move up and down...
