Thats our new 824H got it with less than 1 hour on it. Trucks are 789 b's 190 ton payload. The 23 shovel is a P&H 4100, the 20 shovel is a 2300, yeah this is where I work, and yeah it does get kinda boring sometimes but all in all pretty decent.

i work at a small bentonite mine, we have good iron, i get to travel from pit to pit, the deepest we go is 100 foot take the top off with scrapers down to rock then the dozers take over. ive ben here for 3 years now,as bored as i get sometimes i stop and look how cool the scrapers look pushpulling or how big the new d11 is and think i got a pretty cool job. i was just wondring if after you work around those big shovels and trucks if it gets mondane or do you still marvel at the amound of dirt your moving, or does the equipment even seem that big anymore?

does anyone know why the tracks are set up like that on the 23 with one side being different than the other?

I'm not sure what you mean exactly, the tracks are the same on both sides.

I can see what he means.

Not right/left, but rather front/rear.

On one end (the front?) the nose is high, and rear, low.:beatsme

OK, sorry, I was thinking side to side, not end to end...lol.

Like Bobcat Ron said, it keeps the drive motors up and the idlers down for more stability and less abuse and damage.

It's electric, runs off 7800 volts. I got some video today I'll try to get loaded up. To answer the other question, I mostly run a dozer, blade, or excavator. havn't run a big shovel in a couple of months.

56 yard dipper on that bad boy. I think out of the three mines in the area, only 2 hydraulic shovels. Those 4100 P&H shovels are the main stay. At Morenci, that's the mothership, they are moving over 1,000,000 tons a DAY. That's muckin!!!
