Do you have the ability to clear the codes with your scanner? You may have already tried this option. But if not, see if clearing the codes clears the problem. If it does great, if it doesn’t they will come right back.

Not sure about your machine (mine is 25 years old…), but on some models you can clear the codes by leaving the battery disconnected for a period of time. Some recommend literally tying the disconnected negative and positive cable ends together for 20 minutes or so. Again, you may know all of this.

On my old cat 226 machine (a much less sophisticated ecm than yours I'm sure), the codes cleared themselves when I corrected serious ground problems.

I also do not have the optional tamper system on my machine. Sometimes code get stuck in the ecm. And that’s when clearing is required. One tip. If you go the battery disconnect route, you may or may not lose code history…and that data can sometimes help find a ghost-

Sounds like codes are stacking up on you. Found this list of codes on Oogl this am. Typical one code can cause another etc.

if you oogl the year & model and your error code ex. 12345… The part and usually an explanation of it will show up. And watch for ytube links… It may even explain multiple residual/related codes.

With a wiring diagram you can quickly determine if you have failed sensors in series etc.

If you eliminate that possibility, then an individual sensor is suspect. From your description of work performed, the inclination is something was bumped (ex. sensor cracked), crushed or cut.

Did you disconnect the battery while working on the machine? If not and you disconnected wiring connectors; depending on what it was, it can cause issues (error codes) with the ecm. Some, perhaps expensive.

If you don’t already have the code list, copy paste this into oogl. “Its a free and clean pdf” download. No extra links or steps to open and download. I used your year and make to find this doc.

This is an example of what oogl AI came up with when i searched your year, model and swash plate code. Keep in mind AI is not 100% but it can get your problem solving wheels turning.

Most of the time, the AI search response will also provide a link as to where the information came from. And that’s where the gold resides…

I see the site filtered the link. Excellent cyber protection. This is an excerpt of the response that i referred to. Further down in the AI response, it also includes troubleshooting steps…

Case code 4731 indicates a problem with the right swash plate sensor, specifically a short to ground or open circuit on pin A. This fault code is often associated with New Holland construction equipment, such as skid steers.

Here's a breakdown of the issue and potential troubleshooting steps:
What it means:
  • The swash plate sensor is a component that helps regulate the hydraulic pump's output in machines with joystick controls.

  • A short to ground or open circuit on pin A of the sensor means there's a break or fault in the electrical connection, preventing the sensor from functioning correctly.

  • This can lead to issues with the machine's movement and control, potentially causing it to shut down or operate erratically.

the turbo cold protection is normal it's suppose to be there, it prevents you from reving the engine up for the first 10 sec. the SCR tampering code is a reactive code caused by another code probably have to check codes in the DCU to see what's causing it. The swash plate angle sensor is on the bottom of the travel pumps. follow the hoses from your right travel motor back to the pump, then look at the sensor underneath and check your wiring
