Traded in my kx040 on the new u48. Wanted the new cab of the -5, more impressed with the track size. Its the 057 size tracks under the 040 size machine. It actually dozes. The 40 would spin tracks, this blade is taller and wider, tracks are taller/wider, it basically rolls dirt. Lol, not really, but the blade is way more useful than the smaller blade/undercarriage of the 40. The cab is now sealed, where the on the -4 series you can see the ground through the track joysticks on the floor. Way more room in cab. I’m sure the 040 is slated for the -5 series but i like the larger undercarriage. Same motor but its a 3 pump system with 6gpm more flow.
