new to us JD 1050c

[450 Bron]

Just picked up a used 7000hr 1050c. Any advice on common problems and things to watch out for would be appreciated. This machine had engine rebuilt 1500hrs ago, runs really well, and seems like it was very well taken care of. Thanks

The main hoses to the hydraulic motors have a tendency to fail around 5000 hours. They are a bi**h to get at too. Other than that they are a good machine. We just ordered a new K model and should take delivery in June.

What are you planning on using it for Bron?

We had one at a pulp mill in Northern NB. Biggest POS I've ever run. Hydraulics overheat constantly, pump failures, hoses leak and break because of the constant heat they were submitted to. Would always pull to one side or the other, never track straight. Replaced with D8T.
