I have a 1998 8042 skytrak that is over charging and cooking batteries.
But I've had the alternator tested 3 different times and they all say that the alternator isn't the problem.
Any ideas?

Measure the battery voltage while the unit is running. You should see approximately 13.8 to 14.2 volts. If the voltage is much higher than that, that's a problem, and it's probably the alternator. Also make sure all the battery connections are clean.

Oops, I misspoke on the voltage range. Assuming you have a 24v battery system, look for approximately 2.5volts higher than that when the unit is running.
