How does this NOT get stopped by DOT??
Because there is not enough DOT enforcement officers. People will do what ever they damn well
please. It's a monkey see monkey do world. Now the kicker to this is that thing called insurance.
What do you figure the age is of that wrinkle rancher standing in front of his set of doubles?
Old enough to know better.

A huge issue has risen with heavy transport--when is too big too big? These types of incidents
have risen sharply in the past 12 years.

I think patrol should be outlawed including local cops and sheriff's
There are allot of people that think that this day and age, problem is it's what I was saying
above--people can't police themselves. This whole thread wouldn't be just 217 pages if there
was no police presents, it would be 2,017 pages. Road rage would be out of control in less
than two days. During Covid people were driving 30, 40 plus mph over the limit.

And you wind up with Moe Rons as my BILs neighbor that decided ON HIS OWN, NOT to install the Frame Angles for a Fifth Wheel Hitch in his Half Ton PU to drag a 14,000lb three axle Fifth wheel. he saw the cracking in the bed floor, was angered as GM refused warranty so WELDED HIMSELF. Trip into CO, the Floor ripped out, the trailer went for its own destination as did the pickup. He Lost both as well the fines from CO SHP as to operation of an unsafe modified machine.

Still too big. Just because it can be done or it's lawful doesn't stop the fact it may not be
a good idea.
Oh, good sir; I totally agree!!
However............I've seen it happen, you've seen it happen...........it happens.

AS LONG AS YOU PAY PEOPLE OFF........PERMITS, STATE POLICE (THE KEY RIGHT THERE)......Sometimes it just takes hiring 1 trooper........sometimes you need 6, a sargeant, maybe LT..........LT and sarge get signed in and out without even showing up.......no show detail. You got 6 troopers on OT letting you do whatever on THEIR highways. Don't pay the tax?? OOOhhh......you pay the fine.

I don't know about NH----But out here it would be a real stretch, seriously doubt it.
No, this is MA..........Boston specifically. Then again.........if you look at the headlines from the news lately............Troopers getting busted for OT fraud, Troopers getting busted for handing out CDL's with no tests.........just do a search for Mass State police. The guy who took out all those motorcylists here in NH was from MA.........he had a CDL that should have been suspended by the Mass DMV. Big shake up in the DMV and a ton of drivers had their licenses suspended AFTER it should have been done.

Good time had by all.............until someone dies or gets hurt. Then watch the roaches scurry when light gets turned on.

Much of the insane massive loads decades ago were limited, fabrication shops for large scale construction built the oversize machines from sectional pieces on sites where today localized factories produce them and have to be hauled on the roads. Comes down to costs savings and speed.
