Hi guys, long time listener (probably 10 years), first time member/poster. There seems to be a ton of knowledge on these forums and I was hoping I could get some input from those with experience here. I'm in upstate NY and have a tri axle dump truck, 20 ton tag, a 450 deere dozer and a jd310 backhoe, also recently bought a pete 379 road tractor that I'm going to get an end dump trailer for. I frequently end up with leftover material from jobs, and in many cases take the last load of fill at the end of a trucking job home. I have a decent amount of room to stockpile and was thinking that a portable shaker screen plant could increase the value of material I was already paid to remove. I also happen to be 30 minutes from the Albany capital region where there is a large amount of landscapers and related business. My thoughts were that if I got a shaker screen that's small enough to be moved by 1 ton pickup, it could be rented out to local landscapers for jobs to pay for itself when im not using my own material. Something small enough to be loaded with skid steers with one ton buckets, but still big enough to get worthwhile production where thwy would want to rent again. Has anyone used a box screener in the ez screen 600, or reed rd20 for example? What is real world production like? What are heavy wear items? Real world cost of ownership? I appreciate any input and insight, thanks guys!
