Problem with Wacker RD25 roller

My brother just purchased a sweet RD25 by wacker at auction. Problem is that the center articulating member is broken (ie, roller is now two separate halves, front and rear!) Anybody had similar problems on same style or different makes? Anybody know of somebody who might have old parts for such a model? Manufacturer price on this part is very scary!
